Requirement
Epta Refrigeration needed to provide its EMEA Planning team, responsible for planning activities across the group’s 7 EMEA plants, with a tool to develop the master production schedule. This tool needed to consider product transfer lead times between plants, manage different product types (MTS production, make-to-order items), and generate a finite capacity production schedule quickly while optimizing production sequences specific to each site.
Additionally, it had to provide visibility beyond the frozen horizon and assess the impact of constraints (such as material availability) on expected delivery dates.
Solution
Results
Finite capacity production scheduling time was significantly reduced. Capacity adjustments are now handled easily, allowing updated sales order delivery dates in just over 5 minutes, compared to the previous two man-days required.
Delivery dates calculated at the time of customer order creation remain stable for 97% of the order portfolio, excluding customer-requested changes or supply chain constraints. Moreover, new improvement opportunities have emerged, such as ETO product planning and extending MTS logic to new plants.
Compass FCP enabled several changes in the EMEA logistics and production network, supported by digitalized transport times that defined key flow milestones up to shipment.
