CSF Inox Spa, founded in 1970 in Montecchio Emilia, is today one of the leading companies in Italy and Europe in the production of pumps designed primarily for the food and beverage, dairy, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. The Montecchio Emilia production facilities cover an area of 25,000 m².
Needs
With continuous growth in sales and consequently production volumes, the company needed finite capacity scheduling tools to optimize production plans while maintaining component stock levels that could ensure the service levels required by end customers. With the market demanding extremely fast delivery times, another critical factor was real-time monitoring of factory activities to develop an always up-to-date production schedule and obtain useful insights into key production KPIs.
Solution
The introduction of the Advanced Planning & Scheduling system and the COMPASS MES software integrated with the ERP system aligned with CSF Inox’s technological development strategy. The software supports users in:
- Defining the production schedule for each resource
- Minimizing setup times through optimized sequencing of operations
- Analyzing bottlenecks and quickly identifying actions to take
- Evaluating customer-requested delivery dates with finite capacity analysis
