Orthex Group is a leading producer of household products in the Nordic countries, operating in a sector with high customer demands and short delivery times. The company’s growth and the increase in large orders have added complexity to the supply chain, putting pressure on the production planning process and, consequently, the planners involved.

The Challenge

For Orthex, large unexpected orders are common and usually have short delivery times (ranging from 48 hours to a week). Such short deadlines require production flexibility and rapid adaptation. To ensure customer satisfaction and product availability, lean production becomes essential. As Orthex grew, the complexity of production and factory planning increased, becoming more time-consuming. Before using Compass10, Orthex used another production planning application. The company’s current needs and the goal of ensuring sustainable growth required implementing a system capable of providing

more functionality, a higher level of automation, and the ability to plan production for a multi-plant network, both operationally and strategically, offering valuable support to planning and purchasing teams. In summary, Orthex faced: Growth of the company and increased supply chain complexity. The previous planning method was unsustainable with available resources. The existing planning system could not meet future needs.

CWith the introduction of the Compass10 Planning & Scheduling system, Orthex achieved several results, including increased speed and smoothness in the planning activity, making the planner’s job easier.
